Its credentials — RCDD, ITS Technician, DCDC — are widely required on enterprise and data center work.
Three sit on most owner specs: the TDMM (Telecommunications Distribution Methods Manual) — the design reference; NECA/BICSI 568 — the installation standard for low-voltage cabling; and ANSI/BICSI 002 — Data Center Design and Implementation Best Practices. The TIA-942 data center standard also gets referenced alongside BICSI 002.
It means the installer agrees to design and install to BICSI's published standards — pathway sizing, separation rules, bend radius, labeling conventions, test report formats, as-built records. It is a quality and consistency commitment, not a certification per project, but most owners' QA inspections will check work against the BICSI references regardless.

ANSI/TIA-606-C (referenced by BICSI) is the labeling standard. Every cable, port, panel, and pathway carries a unique identifier that matches the as-built record.
